As part of the 2012 Cloud Security Hype Cycle, Gartner updated its take on Cloud Encryption Gateways. Gartner believes the category will deliver a “High” benefit as businesses and governments adopt more cloud services. Gartner reiterated their 2011 recommendations that enterprises can remove concerns over multi-tenant cloud environments with uncertain data security control by using  Cloud Encryption Gateways.

Gartner expects cloud encryption gateways over time to be part of integrated Cloud Access Security Brokers. CipherCloud is joined by other vendors including Intel and Symantec in Gartner’s representative set of vendors named in the  Cloud Encryption Gateway category.
